Every month we provide an update to new or existing resources available to those we serve in Ramsey County or of interest to their caregivers or our member agencies.

OLDER AMERICANS MONTH 2024


Every May, ACL leads the nation’s observance of Older Americans Month (OAM). This year's theme is Powered by Connection, which recognizes the profound impact that meaningful relationships and social connections have on our health and well-being. RAMSEY COUNTY: UPDATED GUIDANCE FOR COVID-19 and OTHER RESPIRATORY ILLNESSES


The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated its recommendations and prevention strategies for protecting against COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses. Also, information on new vaccine and testing options can be found here:

WHITE BEAR AREA FOOD SHELF COMMUNITY MARKET - NOW OPEN!

A new market in a new location just opened for IN-PERSON SHOPPING! This is your corner market-style selection and quantity of free FRESH PRODUCE and other items collected daily from local grocery stores (bakery items, meat items, deli items, sandwiches, milk, etc.). https://whitebearfoodshelf.org/

WOODLAND HILLS CORNER SHELF

Woodland Hills Corner Shelf is currently open and is a low-barrier food shelf, NO ID is needed. It is located at Woodland Hills Church. https://whchurch.org/find-support/the-corner-shelf/

The church is also teaming up with Open Cupboard to open a second location of TODAY’S HARVEST, a fresh free market, later this spring. Today’s Harvest is currently open in Oakdale and offers daily items collected from local grocery stores, farms and other partners. Their NEW location will be in the North End of Woodland Hills Church and open daily. FAMILY VALUES FOR LIFE

Community resource advocates available at Ramsey County Library

Do you need assistance with housing, food, mental health care, daycare/preschool or other resources?  


Social workers will be present in the library to help individuals and families with questions relating to housing, accessing benefits, food assistance, employment, teen services, early childhood, crisis intervention, and more. All are welcome. No appointments necessary.

Virtual Caregiver Support Groups 

A welcoming space for caregivers to learn and reinforce positive self-care, give and receive encouragement, and enjoy support and understanding from others.

Ramsey County Launches Free Naloxone Distribution For Residents:

The county is offering free naloxone (commonly known as Narcan®) directly to residents on a limited basis, while supplies last.

Ramsey County residents can order a naloxone kit which includes:

  • Two doses of naloxone nasal spray.

  • Breathing barriers and gloves.

  • Directions for use and a list of community resources.

Public Health is offering one kit per address which county residents can order online at ramseycounty.us/Opioids. The kits will be mailed directly to homes.

Absentee Voting Begins

Absentee voting for the presidential primary begins Jan. 19, 2024. Residents can cast their ballot in person or vote by mail from Jan. 19 to March 4. The presidential primary election is March 5. For more information on where to vote early in-person or by mail go to:

Covid cases are on the rise in Minnesota 

We want you to be protected!  Free test kits are still available to order!  There is a limit of 8 per household. There are two easy ways to order listed below!
